About this bottle

From Maison Ferrand, Canerock is a spiced rum featuring 100% Jamaican aged rums. The rums, originating from Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries, were created using pot and column stills and aged between 5 and 10 years. Madagascar vanilla, Caribbean coconuts, and Jamaican ginger are the natural spices infused individually before being combined with the rum. The blend undergoes a finishing period of several months in PX sherry casks. This offering became available in August 2022 with a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Everett Reece 4.3

Very much in the style of a traditional spiced rum, Cane Rock introduces some unique elements to its expression. The initial impression is of strong vanilla, followed by a more subtle yet distinct presence of coconut. After a few moments, a gentle warmth from ginger emerges, providing a comforting sensation that lasts through the finish. Overall, the spices contribute some savory and distinctive notes. We recommend this as an excellent rum for sipping, but it will also be particularly effective for creating exceptional faux-tropical cocktails. Consider trying it in your next Jet Pilot, Painkiller, or Navy Grog.

Imogene Mccabe 3.3

Excessively sweet, perhaps bordering on too sweet. Due to its sugar content, it's classified as a spirit drink in the EU, not rum. It features great spices and is tasty, but lacks elegance. I can't picture drinking it with coke or neat. It's likely the best option for cocktails.

Alisha Presley 3.8

Quite pleasant if you appreciate spiced rums; I detect a prominent vanilla note on both the nose and palate. If you enjoy other sweeter spiced rums, such as Bumbu, this is certainly worth considering.

Murray Patten 3.3

Coca-cola, eggnog, vanilla, coconut, ginger, sugared caramel, molasses, strawberries.

Eli Tsai 3.5

Semi-sweet vanilla, like a flavored rum. It's not overly rich but quite light. It works well as a sipper or a mixer with soft drinks.

Alonzo Huerta 2.5

Maraschino cherry, vanilla, caramel. Significant burn on the way down. Would be good in a mixed drink.
