About this bottle

The Centuria is a solera-style blend of rums that are aged for up to three decades in American whiskey casks, sourced from the "Reserva de la Familia" collection. Varela Hermanos, the Panamanian distillery responsible for this and other rum products, cultivates its own sugarcane and oversees the entire process from fermentation and distillation through to aging and blending.

Ashly Cook 1.8

The aroma of light candied fruit is present. The intense alcohol burn prevents enjoyment as a sipper, making it hard to discern a clear flavor profile – it's like sweetened rubbing alcohol? It works much better as a mixer with floral sweetness. I would only use it for mixing, but at this price, it's not a worthwhile purchase. You can easily get two or three bottles of something much more enjoyable for sipping and/or mixing at the cost of this one bottle. This rating is based on drinking it neat.

Daren Burge 4.5

This is a top-tier rum. The nose has sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, and nutmeg. The palate is silky and smooth, with a hint of coffee. The finish is incredible, slightly spicy, and lasts a medium amount of time. You won't be let down by this rum.

Rosalinda Plummer 5.0

The aroma is fruity with banana and hints of tropical fruits. It's sweet at first sip, with a surprising cinnamon kick, followed by ripe fruit and a brown sugar finish. The long, lingering finish stays with you.

Brady Daley 4.0

A distinguished spirit, where its age has tempered its youthful energy – which, in my view, is the drink's drawback. Very refined, very well-composed, and consequently, a bit unexciting?

Antonia Sewell 5.0

Rich and smooth. You can detect strong (but pleasant) coffee, chocolate, and toffee notes, possibly with a hint of butter. Very enjoyable.

Sandy Pratt 4.8

Amazing! I appreciate the subtle funk!
