About this bottle

Planteray Fiji 2005, also known as Fiji Lory, is a vintage rum from the brand's Birds of Paradise limited edition collection. It is made with rum distilled in triple column stills at The Rum Co. of Fiji. The rum underwent 14 years of aging in ex-bourbon barrels in Fiji, followed by a year of additional aging in French oak Maison Ferrand casks at their cellars in Cognac, France. Production was limited to 28 casks, and it was bottled at 50.2% ABV. It was released in Europe in July 2020 and in the US in October 2020.

Shania Bird 3.5

The aroma suggests brown sugar, butter, and a hint of molasses. The taste mirrors the nose, with butter becoming more prominent and some spice added. It's moderately sweet with a slight burn at the end. Acceptable, but not outstanding.

Noel Jansen 4.0

Heavy on the alcohol (49.5%!). Once you get used to that: banana, peach, apricot, bergamot, good length, something to savor, not for mixing.

Tyler Cuevas 4.8

It's fantastic! Incredibly smooth, and despite its high alcohol content, I experienced no unpleasant burn.

Ulysses Estrella 2.5

Slightly bitter, not very sweet.

Kassandra Kimmel 5.0

It's amazing
