Rating: 14/23 Nose: Grassy, some vanilla, ethanol, a slight roasty savoriness, hints of citrus, very faint caramel, a touch of white pepper. Apart from the ethanol, this is a pleasant, straightforward nose for a blanco tequila. A little minerality is also present. Palate: Fuller and sweeter than the nose suggested. Abundant vanilla. The heat from the ethanol and white pepper is immediate but subsides quickly. Not truly rich, but there's some caramel. A faint pear flavor, perhaps. Maybe just a hint of chipotle. Finish: Significant vanilla with lingering spicy heat. Touches of cinnamon. Faint suggestions of lime alongside chipotle and pear. Some subtle grassy notes. - Conclusion - It's good, but the vanilla is a bit too pronounced and seems to mask some lighter, less interesting flavors. I'm comfortable assigning this a 14 and could see a 15, but that's the highest I'd go. No significant flaws, aside from a slight ethanol presence. It's also a bit light, I suppose. Could be a 13.
