About this bottle

Puntas signifies a narrow distillation cut taken from the conclusion of the heads and the start of the heart. Traditionally, this portion is reserved for the distiller's personal enjoyment. For the 2023 edition, two high-proof distillates were combined and then adjusted to 106 proof. Consistent with all Tequila Ocho products, this tequila originates from a single estate. The agave for this batch was sourced from Rancho Mesa Colorada, situated 28 kilometers from the company's new facility, Tequilera Los Alambiques. This additive-free tequila became available in October 2023, with the United States receiving 1,100 cases at a suggested retail price of $74.99.

Macey Mccord 4.5

A remarkably lively nose, with notes of sour cream frosting, vegetal grass, birch beer, and dark cherry preserves. On the palate, the higher proof offers a more substantial take on the Blue Weber agave, providing a deeper and richer impression. The flavor is rich, evocative, and somewhat rustic, yet ultimately clean and expressive. The body is medium-heavy, and the finish is quite long, with a slightly smoky conclusion. Overall, this is a uniquely flavorful tequila, distinct from those typically found outside of Mexican distilleries.

Aurora Chacon 4.3

Did a side by side with Brix 11... The Puntas was more fruity in the nose and palate The 53% Alc/ Vol was welcomed Drank very smoothly no rough edges whatsoever Very enjoyable nose, palate and finish Balanced and bold An excellent high proof example of tequila

Jimmie Linder 5.0

An outstanding Blanco that belongs in the Tequila Hall of Fame. The scent escapes the bottle the moment it is opened. Sweet agave and mint are the dominant flavors on the palate. The 106-proof tingles on your tongue. It's so delicious I returned to purchase more.

Sandra Stovall 4.0

Very pleasant and full of flavor. There's a slight burn going down, but the taste is excellent, and the finish is smooth.
