About this bottle

Established in 2011 by third-generation tequila producer Felipe Camarena, Terralta Tequila derives its name from the "high land" where El Pandillo Distillery operates. The Blanco 110 bottling represents the highest proof expression in the Terralta range. Camarena developed "Igor," a mechanical device for shredding agave, and "Frankenstein," a mechanical substitute for the traditional stone tahona used to crush cooked agaves. The water utilized in crafting the tequila originates from a well extending 450 feet deep, possessing a complex mineral composition. This tequila is additive-free.

Neat. The nose presents significant earthiness, minerals, herbal notes (fresh tarragon/anise), cooked agave, citrus, and predictably, ethanol, though less than anticipated. The taste is rich and sweet from the agave, with anise, a touch of olive brine, and hints of mint, white pepper, and cocoa appearing after several sips and allowing it to adjust to the proof. The finish develops over time, with brine, citrus peel, cocoa, and finally the earthy mineral from the nose. This is a highly distinctive spirit for its proof and additive-free craftsmanship. It's a blanco for tequila connoisseurs. Ideal for special occasions or as a gift for a true blanco enthusiast; they'll appreciate the focus on quality over appearance.

A dry, Agave Spirit from NOM 1579. It begins aromatically with notes of agave, damp earth, citrus, florals, herbs & spices; the middle develops with herbal notes of cooked agave, orange, celery, olive, anise, basil, dill & peppermint; leading to a long & minerally finish with notes of black pepper, almond & limestone.

A big admirer of this brand. The higher proof version is delicious neat or makes an outstanding Margarita due to its additional proof compared to the standard version or basic versions. Well-balanced. Fruity. Well done, distillery. I also enjoy other brands.

Earthy aroma with hints of citrus, intense minerality on the tongue with earth and alcohol warmth. The higher alcohol content is noticeable, yet it's not harsh at all and is unexpectedly easy to drink. Fantastic.
