Grady Shaffer 3.8

Nose: Oily, fruity, herbaceous aromas, and new leather. Palate: A sweet start, with fruit, citrus, minerality, and vegetal notes. Hints of earth and spice. Finish: Medium. Sweet and vegetal (asparagus, artichoke, Brussels sprouts). The aroma is a bit sweeter and sharper than any tequila I've sampled, but it lacks the full body of mezcal, and I detected no smoke. The palate is similarly smooth but delicate. Quite enjoyable all around. This is the initial review from a series of quick takes following an impromptu tasting at a nearby store. Solid product for the cost. If you enjoy tequila or mezcal, give this a shot. “Good”: 84/100 (3.75 stars)

Neat. Crystal clear with significant legs. The nose is appealing, offering fruit, leather, and a touch of funk. The palate presents sweetness with mild ethanol warmth, fruit, leather, earthy/mineral notes, and a whisper of evergreen. The finish is sweet, carrying that hint of leather. All in all, quite delicious and sippable, yet engaging. An excellent introduction to Sotols. Offers excellent worth for the cost at a bulk retailer. I will purchase another bottle if I find one.
