The aroma presents notes of damp stone, the smell after rain, earthy smoke akin to peat, lemon-scented laundry soap, and crushed mint leaves. The mouthfeel is rich and slightly slick. On the palate, I detect a continuation of the nose with damp stone and earthy/peaty smoke, alongside flavors of lemon zest, caramelized grapefruit, spearmint tea, and black pepper, with a subtle hint of sweet cream. The finish is lengthy, dominated by the earthy smoke, with a character reminiscent of smoked bacon, and a touch of sea brine.

About this bottle
Nocheluna is a Sotol brand produced from 100% wild Dasylirion plants harvested from the family's property in Chihuahua, Mexico. The harvested plants are cooked for 72-96 hours, then crushed and fermented for a week in open wooden tanks before copper still distillation. The Nocheluna team comprises fourth-generation Master Vinatero Don "Lalo" Eduardo Arrieta, sotol expert Ricardo Pico, and Casa Lumbre Chief Innovation Officer Iván Saldaña. Musician and actor Lenny Kravitz is also a brand partner. It has been available in Mexico and select US locations since October 2022, with broader US and international distribution planned by the end of the year. (SRP $79.99)

A sotol aroma that is smoky, peppery, and briny. The palate is rich, smoky, and herbal.
It's like a lighter version of mezcal. Smooth with a subtle floral character.
