About this bottle

Distilled from 100% Agave Americana, commonly known as arroqueño, this mezcal originates from Miahuatlan, Oaxaca, where the agave plants grow semi-wild. The arroqueño agave, which can take up to 30 years to mature due to their large size and long ripening period, are harvested after 14 years. Following traditional pit-roasting of the piñas, the juices undergo open fermentation after being crushed by a mule-drawn tahona. This mezcal is double-distilled and produced in limited quantities, reflecting sustainable practices for conserving wild agave.

Fernando Church 4.3

Extremely smooth, with subtle smoke. The bartender showed me the bottle; only 350 produced, making it quite pricey. A very enjoyable sipping Mezcal, although I slightly prefer the Del Maguey Arroqueño, which is likely in a similar price range.

Catrina Kaminski 4.5

Wonderfully sweet, with abundant fruity notes that give it a candy-like taste. Smoke and savory notes appear near the end, creating a nice overall balance. 95

Lexie Bauer 4.5

A bit of an initial kick; this is a potent spirit with a sweet finish. The 50.3% ABV certainly packs a punch. An amazing Mezcal, and obtaining these bottles is challenging.

Erin Dupree 4.5

Sweet and fruity, with plenty of smoke, precisely as described. It's lively and excites all the taste buds. A pleasant, easy finish.

Nylah Quinlan 5.0
