About this bottle

Tepextate, a distinctive agave varietal, is among the largest types and requires approximately 25 years to mature. Its wide, dramatic leaves twist distinctively, mirroring the mountainous terrain where they grow. Del Maguey offers limited details about this mezcal, withholding information about the maestro and their location, deeming them too valuable to reveal.

Nigel Bonilla 3.5

This Mezcal from Del Maguey is a potent Single Village bottling from Mexico, created by Del Maguey using wild Tepextate agave found at high altitudes. It begins with an enticing bouquet of agave, herbs, and spices, followed by a robust and fiery middle, concluding with a satisfying and moderately long finish. April 2017

Rene Martino 3.0

This Tepextate offers some excellent flavors but is significantly muted by its 45% ABV. If it were bottled at 48% or higher, it would be fantastic. This is a good, affordable introduction to Tepextate, but it's too subdued to satisfy once you've explored other Tepextate options.

Breana Herr 5.0

Silky, unusual sweet banana notes, with an aroma like saltwater taffy. It's incredibly enjoyable.

Kaylie Kendall 4.5

Heavy smoke. Licorice and lemon notes.

Scarlett Woodson 3.8

Satisfactory.
