Jérôme and Lillian Tessendier, the fourth generation of Master Cellars, now lead the Distillerie Tessendier estate, which was established by Gaston Tessendier in 1880. Their VS Carte Blanche is produced in limited quantities to preserve its character. This blend consists of brandies from the Fins Bois and Petite Champagne crus. The eaux-de-vie, made from ugni blanc grapes, initially rests in new Limousin casks for six months before moving to older casks for an additional aging period of four to eight years. This expression is the youngest offered by the brand and is presented at 40% ABV.

While cognac isn't typically my drink of choice (I usually go for scotch or rum), I found this quite pleasing. It's smooth and pleasant, without any harsh alcohol burn or off-putting flavors. It has nice notes of toffee and butterscotch combined with oak and some floral elements. I'm not entirely certain what cognac ought to taste like, but I enjoyed this one.
The first of six samples from a Park Cognac set. A promising beginning! The aroma has potpourri and cedar, a silky mouthfeel with stone fruits, and the medium finish begins spicy before slowly fading. It's as good as any other VS I've sampled, apart from the Ciroc.
