Bisquit & Dubouché, a brand from the 200-year-old Maison Fondée Cognac house, made its long-anticipated entry into the United States market at the conclusion of 2021. This Cognac house emphasizes a sensory and intuitive methodology in its distillation and maturation processes. The VSOP expression incorporates grapes from the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fin Bois, and Bons Bois regions and is bottled at 40% ABV.

I've consumed about a quarter of this bottle. This is a really nice cognac. Pleasantly sweet and smooth with notes of marzipan, prunes, brown sugar, maple, caramel, chocolate, sweet spices, cinnamon, clove, and candied nuts. A long spicy finish. Many excellent notes. I'm still discovering them all.
This is an outstanding VSOP, especially at a reduced price of $76 Canadian in Ontario. At its standard $100 price, I'd give it a 3.75. It offers excellent value, isn't overly sweet, and is very smooth. It's well-made and delicious.
The nose has notes of grape jelly and caramelized apricot. It's thin and sweet on the palate, with flavors of canned fruit, sugar-coated white grapes, and caramel flakes. The finish is mild and tannic. It's easy to drink and straightforward, better suited for casual sipping than detailed flavor analysis.
I prefer this slightly over Hennessy.
