Archer Hankins 3.8

I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of Armagnac. I've had a few older ones, and they've been quite over-oaked. So, I moved up a decade or so, and what's the verdict? The oakiness lessens somewhat, and there's a deep, rich, cognac-like flavor. It has a sort of prune, port-like taste. It definitely grew on me, but I don't think it's something I'd drink frequently.

Bailey Angeles 4.0

An intense vintage Bas Armagnac from Clos Martin, distilled from Folle Blanche. It starts aromatically with notes of stewed fruits; while a rich and fruity middle adds notes of grape and plum; that led to an oaky finish of medium length with a touch of earth. August 2017 / June 2018
