- Definitely reminiscent of grappa, but less intense: Walnut shells and almonds. Gentle citrus: lemon zest, orange zest. Kiwis. Anise seed. Vanilla bean. Creamy coffee essence. Dates. Prunes. Raisins. Figs. A touch of apple sauce! Subtly tropical: papayas, mangos, pineapple. Coconut milk. Chocolate note. Pistachio ice cream! Sweet, but not excessively. Vegetal. Earthy. Grassy. A hint of brown spice as well, comparable to a young sherried whisky. Well-rounded, smooth. Velvety texture. Additionally, I detect a burst of red currant, with hints of both raspberries and gooseberries, in the aroma as I conclude my glass of this, with only a very small, well-aired sip remaining. I do endorse mellowing it with a drop of water and allowing it to breathe. Not that it is at all unbalanced. On the contrary! Appreciate the 46% alcohol content. Really appreciate the opportunity to sample Tariquet's exceptional Folle Blanche Eau-de-Vie directly from the tubes!

About this bottle
Blanche Armagnac received official AOC recognition in 2005, though Tariquet released its version in 2004 under the previous designation "Eau-de-Vie de Folle Blanche." While the four primary Armagnac grapes (folle blanche, ugni blanc, colombard, and baco blanc) are permitted if sourced from the Armagnac region, this bottling exclusively uses folle blanche. It is unaged and presented at 92 proof.
