Marking its debut in 1912, Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac stands as a highlight within Martell's main range, below their most exclusive offerings. This cognac features eaux-de-vie aged from 10 to 25 years. Although grapes from four regions are utilized, the majority originates from Borderies, a region from which Martell procures approximately half of all its grape production.

Very dark, brownish color. Somewhat oily. Deep, full, and rich aroma. Wouldn't guess 40% ABV due to intensity. Lots of chocolate, caramel, toffee, and vanilla. Also grapes and raisins, like milk chocolate with raisins. Maybe a touch of floral notes. Sweetness mingles with dryness on the palate; caramel, burnt sugar, full and intense, rich, dessert chocolate. Sweetness and dryness on the finish; burnt sugar, a pinch of spice, white pepper. Quite a lengthy finish. Overall score: 85.

Aroma: Exotic spice, star anise, loads of vanilla, very deep and complex. Certainly orange marmalade and plum pudding. A slight residue of paint or glue. Palate: Stewed citrus medley. Dark and caramelized. Succulent and decadent. Overall: My initial experience was a bit overwhelming, but I enjoyed it the second time. It's sweet and accessible yet very intriguing. Keeps you looking for new flavors. Amazing dessert cognac.

Appearance: Rich copper tones throughout, rose mahogany color, leaves long streaks;
Aroma: Rich, oak-forward scents, mature grapes;
Taste: Elegantly complex and smooth, with an oily, rich mouthfeel that transforms the palate; individual grape notes are discernible;
Finish: A beautiful finish, with a short aftertaste and oak notes at the end. This is the most exquisite cognac I have encountered to date. So far.

Aroma of leather, raisin, grape, vanilla, star anise, apricot, wood, honeydew melon, white pepper, nuts, maraschino cherry, with a touch of dark chocolate and nutmeg. Lightly sweet and woody on the palate; tastes of vanilla, pepper, oak, raisin, molasses, baking spice, and toasted malt.

I was let down by this bottle, especially considering the cost. It was fine, but not amazing. I ended up giving it away since I didn't anticipate drinking much more.

This is a fantastic cognac. It's a bit pricey but absolutely worth the cost. The aromas are of candied fruit and wood with floral notes. The taste is buttery with vanilla and chocolate, followed by a nutty finish.
