Frapin Château de Fontpinot XO Cognac 

This has a woody and slightly astringent scent with a hint of alcohol. The flavor is rich and robust with a well-rounded character. Notes of beautiful apricot blossoms are present. The cask influence is nicely apparent. The finish is lovely, and I appreciate the dryness. It reminds me of a sweeter, less complex Glenfarclas 25. The coffee notes are very pleasant, and the fruit is well-balanced. The finish is delightful, as are the flavors. Its depth surpasses that of Pasquinet XO 25. A true pleasure.

Smells of fruits and rounded sweets. Apricot hints. Subtle wooden smells after maturing. Very pleasant but anonymous taste. Burnt wood in the aftertaste. Some spirit. Matures a lot and is much better after an hour with air. Good, but maybe not worth the price

Aroma of grape skins, honeydew melon, oak, berries, toast, and apple. The palate is toasty and rich, with oak, vanilla, a slight peppery note, spiced apples, berries, caramel, and grape must. It has a long, rich, spicy finish.

A nice pour. It certainly solidified my preference for Cognac over Armagnac. It possesses oak notes without being overpowering, and a delightful rich, fruitiness reminiscent of Christmas pudding. It's sweet, without excessive bitterness.

Superb cognac with notes of vanilla, dried plums, raisins, apricots, almonds, jasmine, honey, milk chocolate, quince, butterscotch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and browned butter cake.

Revisiting: halfway through the bottle. Incredibly smooth, the finest spirit I've ever had (so far). (Beats the Delamain Vesper, slightly)
