This mezcal was brought back from Mexico; it's a genuine success. Great flavor, but not overpowering—which is uncommon for mezcals. It was successfully incorporated into cocktails without dominating the other ingredients. Smooth and excellent on its own.

About this bottle
Pechuga typically signifies poultry in mezcal, but Bruxo's version, created by maestro Pablo Garcia, is a unique vegetarian style. The roasted maguey heart is infused directly into the mezcal, enhancing its agave flavor. The base spirit is a combination of espadín and wild (barril) varietals.

The aroma presents salinity, earthiness, hints of wood smoke, minty and bitter botanicals, mesquite, green agave, and freshly baked bread with wood undertones. The mouthfeel is rich, vegetal, and herbaceous, featuring mint, earth, wood, grass, agave, and a touch of smoke. It's wonderful.
A pleasing bottle that mostly avoids smoke in the flavor, allowing focus on its botanical and floral aspects.
A thanks to a friend. Sampled neat. On the nose, it's smoky. On the palate, it's smooth, smoky, and sweet.
Herbaceous, vegetal, and fruity, with subtle hints of smoke and salt. It has an almost oily texture.
Smooth, not intensely smoky.
