Anita Escobar 4.0

Moderately sweet initially, transitioning to notes of oak, caramel, roasted agave, a hint of lime peel, and small traces of minerality and woody smoke, which are much less prominent than in the joven. An excellent espadin anejo, especially considering the price.

Tamia Mata 3.8

The aroma has notes of vanilla, alcohol phenols, oak, very faint smoke, agave, and parsley. The palate is smooth and mildly sweet, with vanilla, wood, toast, smoke, and a hint of brine. The finish is of medium length and peppery.

Luis Mcallister 3.8

Overall, more wood influence and less agave than the reposado, which I find preferable. This expression is dry. I may experiment with it in a mezcal sour or mezcal old fashioned later. I believe it will perform well in those applications.

Thanks to a friend. Tasted neat. Very authentic taste. The agave is very prominent on the palate and nose and it's delicious, but it's very smoky, which influences my rating.
