Vim & Petal Dry Gin

Neat: A very distinctive aroma of cinnamon, vanilla, anise, and of course juniper. A sharp start in the mouth, characterized by pepper and no citrus, leading to a considerable amount of acridness and bitterness (neither of which I particularly enjoy), followed by a very brief finish, except for a slight tingle from botanicals (Szechuan peppercorns, as noted by another person?). I'm curious, and perhaps a little apprehensive, to try it in a G+T, as the bitterness and acrid taste will likely be the most prominent elements. The aroma of this gin is truly unique, as is its initial taste on the palate, but the bitterness and short finish make it less appealing to me.

Aroma: pronounced juniper & pine, with a subtle citrus note. Dry. Bitter. Lavender. Pine. The body has an almost soapy quality (perhaps too floral for my preference?). The flavor is perfumed. Not something I can drink straight. However, it would likely be excellent with some honey or mint.

A fine gin from Middle West Spirits out of Ohio. Lots of botanicals, not heavy on the juniper. A prickly sensation comes from the Sichuan peppercorn, which is one of the botanicals. I generally don't drink gin, but I like and have this one.
