About this bottle

Located in Brattleboro, Vermont, Saxtons River Distillery makes this American dry gin. It is vacuum-distilled from 100% neutral grain spirit. This process involves steeping botanicals at a lower atmospheric pressure, reducing the boiling point during distillation. This allows for the preservation of more delicate notes and flavors. The gin contains coriander, juniper, thyme, star anise, cocoa, orris root, cardamom, sarsaparilla root, rosemary, allspice, fennel seed, grains of paradise, orange peel, Damiana leaf, caraway seed, anise seed, and ginger. It has an ABV of 44.5%.

Brody Yee 4.0

The palate is very clear, dominated by juniper and prominent herbal notes of fennel and anise. I can almost grasp the reason for its name – the clarity and light body evoke snowflakes. This flavor profile is quite appealing and would likely pair well with a slightly stronger tonic. It might also be intriguing in a dirty martini. I tried it with sparkling water, which helped highlight the herbal notes but didn't enhance the overall experience significantly.

Lizette Almeida 4.3

Spicy, somewhat cloudy flavors, with anise present.
