Sampled this a couple of weeks prior but vividly recall the apricot brandy having a significant effect. A small addition of water helped to temper some of the cask's intensity while simultaneously enhancing the flavors.
I'm genuinely surprised by this. I hadn't heard of it and had low expectations, but it's outstanding. Delightful Irish whiskey characteristics followed by fruitiness at the end. Very good.
Subtle fruit and spice. The base spirit is robust enough to complement the apricot brandy casks. It tastes like you're sucking on the pit of a delicious apricot.
