The nose presents a sweet malt with hints of chocolate and dark fruit. The aroma is much more unusual than the taste, which features milk chocolate, honey, and a touch of red apple. Despite its low proof, the finish lingers and returns to some of the malt from the nose. The chocolate becomes less noticeable over time, and it starts to resemble a mellowed Speyside. It's well-crafted and enjoyable, though not outstanding, and not what one might expect from an Irish whiskey finished in Stout barrels.
