It also has an oily texture characteristic of Irish whiskey, alongside some grain. Fruit is scarce, though a hint of candied orange appears. White pepper notes are occasional, with very light tannins accompanying them. This dram isn't the most complex or mature, but it's generally clean and easy to approach, with a pleasant sweetness and typical profile. F: Oaky vanilla, with more bitterness from dry grain. Faint traces of tannins and spice remain. The conclusion isn't particularly inspiring or memorable. - Final Thoughts - This is acceptable. It's a solid dram that's easy to sip, but unremarkable. I'd rate it around 13 or 14. Revisiting this, I appreciate the pleasant sweet vanilla flavor. It's clean and a bit too light, but it's elegant and easy to drink. I find it superior to Dudognon Reserve (rated 10/23), but lacking in character and complexity compared to Dudgnon Vieille Reserve (rated 16/23). A score of 14 seems to be the highest possible. It's less woody and bitter than Knappogue Castle 12 (rated 15/23). The Knappogue Castle offers a fuller, more mature experience with added nuttiness. While I enjoy the vanilla sweetness here, it has more of a bite. I was close to giving it a 13, but I'll stick with 14. Honestly, it could still be a 13. Upon final sips, I still believe a score of 13 to 14 is appropriate. Thanks to a friend for sharing!

I generally enjoy Irish whiskey and discovered this one, so I decided to try it. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised on my initial tasting. For my second tasting, I'll provide more detail. Nose: Rich and fruity. Orange, citrus, kiwi (this is unusual, but I'm detecting it for some reason). Green apples and peaches are also present. You get the picture – lots of fruit. There's a subtle hint of leather and spice in the background. Palate: More orchard fruits, especially green apples. There's a really nice addition of cinnamon and baking spice, reminiscent of apple crumble. There's also a little sea salt hidden here. Finish: Quite long. Not as lingering and viscous as Redbreast, nor as malty. However, it does stay on the sides of the tongue. The apple crumble notes definitely linger for a while, particularly at the back of the soft palate. Overall, I'm impressed with this. I tasted it alongside Green Spot during my first session, and I preferred Clonakilty. Good value and a nice fruity Irish whiskey. However, my preference remains with the Redbreast line!

This Irish whiskey is light, malt-forward, and subtly sweetened from its time in wine barrels, making it truly delightful and outstanding. It's warm, well-rounded, smooth, and full of good cheer. The salinity one might expect from a coastal distillery is present, but only in the way a skilled chef or mixologist would employ it. It's evident that the head distiller applies the same methodology to aging and blending the final product. This offers a consistently pleasant experience from start to finish. Cheers!

A typical aroma for an Irish Single Malt, featuring a pleasant fruity sweetness. PALATE Consists of banana, honey graham cracker, dried orchard fruit, vanilla taffy, baking spice, and a subtle grain note. Once again, it's quite standard, but very enjoyable. FINISH Medium length, with notes of banana chips, honey graham cracker, and some spice.

Nose: Orchard fruit (apple), toasted wood Palate: Spicy ginger, black pepper, wood, nuts, grainy Finish: Short. Nutty, cinnamon, toasted oak. Leathery and drying on the aftertaste. Creamy texture, easy to drink but ultimately a bit bland and forgettable. Still tasty, though.
