Oak Devil is a combination of malt and grain whiskeys, with malt comprising 30% and grain 70%. It has been matured for 5 years in barrels that previously held bourbon. The name originates from a tale about the Oak Devil, a guardian figure of The Liberties, Dublin's distillery area, which vanished one night. According to legend, the Oak Devil was lured away by whiskey angels escaping from nearby barrels. This expression is bottled at 46% alcohol by volume and is not chill-filtered.

83 Nose: Fuller body, sherry, vanilla, more pronounced notes (22) Taste: Lots of vanilla, floral, fruity, but also stronger alcohol (20) Finish: Medium, alcoholic burn, vanilla (20) Body: A bit sharper, alcoholic, interesting barrel notes, vanilla, but it's more alcoholic and biting. Gentle warmth, spicy black pepper alongside smoky undertones. A leathery character emerges in the aftertaste. Good stuff.
