About this bottle

Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, is the founder of the Teremana Tequila brand. The tequila is made from ripe agaves from the Highlands of Jalisco, which are roasted for three days in traditional brick ovens. After being shredded, the agaves undergo fermentation in an open tank and are then distilled in copper pot stills. The name signifies "spirit of the earth," derived from the Latin "TERE" for earth and the Polynesian "MANA" for spirit. Teremana Blanco Tequila is bottled at 80 proof.

I really dislike spirits from "founded" celebrities, but my wife picked this blanco after we visited a distillery. It's just a tequila to me, as I don't know anything about the celebrity. The aroma is very grassy with a good amount of salt and more alcohol smell than expected for only 80 proof. The agave seems very young and perhaps not fully cooked. There's a tiny bit of sweet citrus, which I hope is stronger when tasting. The first taste confirms there's no alcohol punch; it tastes more like 60 proof than 80. Because of this, the texture is very thin, and the strong grassy notes I anticipated are weak and out of place. It still has that sweet salty taste found in most celebrity spirits, but at least the salt is more pronounced. The ending is dry, which would be nice if there were any memorable flavors leading up to it. As anticipated, a celebrity spirit missed the mark. This tastes like a cheap tequila from a plastic bottle, just put in glass with a celebrity's name, allowing for an inflated price. It seems to have succeeded in its main purpose (to sell), both for my wife and another person who suggested it and bought a case for a wedding. Hopefully, they cared more about the presentation than the flavor. If you have a bottle, perhaps use it for a themed drinking game while watching wrestling, as I can't think of many other good uses for it.

A bottle was gifted to me by a friend who distributes because I grilled out and had a tailgate on the mountain (which was a blast). I had actually heard really bad stuff about “the Rocks tequila” so i had never bought it to try. However, it surpassed the expectations i had for it. Tried neat and its smooth. On the nose I get notes of vanilla with burnt marshmallow and on the palate its like the charred and toasted part of the marshmallow which is low key my favorite part and why I always burn my marshmallows. Not a huge blanco sipper but im not mad at this one.. maybe because my expectation was set so low 🤷‍♀️

A spirit linked to a famous personality! I genuinely enjoyed this, as it's likely among the superior tequilas I've sampled. It possesses an earthy character, with hints of produce and fruit! Plenty of citrus, especially lime, tastes with a whisper of bell pepper. Not an exceptionally smooth tequila, but its diverse flavor profile compensates for that. I detected a touch of mint at the conclusion. In conclusion, I DO endorse it! Consider trying this if you're in pursuit of a flavorful Blanco!

The aroma is very vegetal. The cooked agave taste comes through, accompanied by less obvious herbal notes. It’s not overly sweet, and the alcohol isn't harsh. The ending has a slight drying quality. This is excellent by itself or in a Paloma. I bought it on discount and am quite happy.

Regardless of opinions, this is a reliable bottle, especially for the price. The excessive criticism from purists towards brands with any celebrity connection is just as problematic as buying brands solely for endorsements.

This is likely the only tequila that will ever satisfy you. It's fresh, exceptionally smooth, with floral and spicy notes, hints of vanilla and citrus, and a sharp, clean finish. I could drink this straight over ice (perhaps with a squeeze of lime) for hours. It's a permanent fixture in my liquor cabinet.
