About this bottle

This limited release was created in collaboration with Maison Ferrand. It features small batch Irish whiskey that has completed its primary maturation in ex-bourbon oak, followed by a finish in ex-Plantation Rum casks. It is bottled non chill-filtered at 46% ABV.

I sampled this during a whiskey tasting with the Teeling representative. This is the Plantation Rum finished variation of the standard Teeling Small Batch blended whiskey. It's only available in certain European nations. Nose: quite pleasant, fruity. Palate and finish: fruity and spicy. In my opinion, it's more approachable than the original, but the ending is still somewhat harsh, with considerably more spice than the aroma suggested.

Intriguing. Excellent rum-like sweetness without being cloying. Distinct orange, with some mentioning coconut.
