Juniper and earthy notes are prominent, complemented by a subtle citrus presence (akin to orange rather than lemon or lime). It has an oily mouthfeel. This is a truly excellent local Arizona gin. From the label and website: “Suncliffe features indigenous plant species, blending three types of native Arizona juniper—one-seed, shaggy, and alligator—with a selection of wild-harvested botanicals, including ponderosa pine bark, manzanita, and western elderflower. The gin undergoes vapor infusion in custom copper stills and is not chill filtered, resulting in a distinctive take on the classic spirit that ignites the imagination—a sensory postcard from the Southwest.”
