Armando Deal 4.0

This dram offers a wealth of pleasant surprises! The whiskey's light color is the first unexpected characteristic, especially considering its potent strength. Nose: Upon the initial inhale, I was taken aback—it has an almost mezcal-like quality, with a smoky, earthy note that is both intriguing and welcoming. Palate: The experience is dynamic. It begins gently, revealing briny peat, before the high proof truly asserts itself, delivering a lively tingle across the palate. As it settles, the peat returns in waves, balanced and not overpowering, before gradually receding. Finish: Medium in duration, fading with a pleasing warmth and a subtle wisp of smoke. Overall: A visually light dram that delivers substantial character. It presents with a mezcal-like aroma, a vibrant and briny taste, and a finish that leaves you satisfied.

I've only tried a neck pour so far, but it's a significant improvement over the standard 43% version. Beautifully balanced and full of flavor, with both sweet and savory notes.
