Seersucker Southern-Style Gin

I had been anticipating trying this for some time and finally purchased it last weekend. As the weather begins to warm, I've been exploring new drinks for warmer days, like Gin and Tonics and Spritzers, which has led me to discover new gins. Seersucker Southern Style Gin is a contemporary gin in the vein of "Gins for people that don't like gin," meaning it's very mild on the juniper and its 84 proof makes it very easy to drink, even neat. The drawback is that it can easily be overpowered in a standard Gin and Tonic. In a Martini with a splash of orange bitters and half the amount of vermouth, it makes for a solid drink. Finally, in a Gimlet, it pairs nicely with the lime, but due to its lower proof, it can't stand up to the lime, almost tasting like flavored vodka. Overall, this is a good to very good gin, but not outstanding. In my region, it costs around $30, and at that price, I can get Roku or Ford's, so I doubt I'll repurchase it. Enjoy.

I must give credit where it's deserved. This is certainly distinctive and unashamed in its creation of a sweet and appealing gin. Heavy citrus notes: orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit are almost overwhelming, with a hint of mint and coriander on the finish. It's not necessarily my go-to choice, and it's a tad too sweet for my preference, but I can't fault the effort. This is a gin that is bold and striking in its straightforwardness and its aim to stand out and attract drinkers who might be put off by a traditional London dry. It would certainly mix well with tonic or soda with lemon and lime on a warm summer day; it feels perfectly suited for that purpose.

Not much aroma or taste, very light on the juniper. It is overpowered by lime, so do not use. Very refreshing with muddled mint and tonic. Good for those that dislike gin flavor.

This has a wonderful citrusy lightness. I'm unsure how it would blend in a classic dirty martini, but it's excellent by itself and would likely be tasty mixed with soda.

A delightful surprise! If you prefer a gin that isn't dominated by juniper, this is a fine choice. Its pronounced citrus character negates the need for a lime garnish in a tonic.

Excellent taste. I love drinking it with Topo Chico. It's also fantastic in a French 75.
