This spirit is a mix of 10-year-old grain and single malt whiskies, aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and then finished in Barbados rum casks. Initially, the aroma had an unpleasant hint of paint and a chemical smell, like a lab. With more time and subsequent sniffing, lemon and peach became noticeable. Rum-finished spirits often become too sugary for my liking, such as the Tullamore DEW XO Caribbean Rum Cask. However, this one, while sweet, has a peppery bite on the palate, along with orange zest and lemon tartness that balance the sweetness. I would definitely try it again.

A sweet and slightly bitter finish with notes of toasted dark sugar. Pleasant spice, with woody, earthy tones. Hints of pineapple and green apple.
Quite sharp, improves significantly with a bit of water
