Ron Abuelo XV Napoleon Cognac Cask Finish is one of three 15-year-old rums, alongside Oloroso and Tawny Port cask finishes. These rums are aged for an average of 14 years in traditional American oak before spending one year in their respective finishing casks, in this case, ex-Napoleon Cognac barrels.

Special 15-year bottlings with finishing touches of Oloroso sherry, Napoleon cognac, and Tawny port provided an exceptional global tour. Unlike many whiskey releases, the finish profoundly shaped this drink's character, allowing for enjoyable discovery of subtle notes.
A light scent of dark maple syrup and vanilla. The taste is sweet but not excessively so. It has orange citrus with a hint of butterscotch. I must locate the Tawny or Sherry cask edition, as it is surely to be excellent. The rating reflects sipping it neat.
A beautiful color, a gentle and rounded nose and initial taste, followed by a distinct and strong finish. A very complete rum.
