It verges on overly sweet, but narrowly avoids being entirely dreadful. Conversely, the taste is truly awful. It's quite dull and nauseatingly sweet, strongly resembling a faux-sweetened and spiced Canadian Spirit. The conclusion is similarly vile, with any hint of flavor vanishing instantly, leaving only that dull, saccharine sweetness until you discover something to cleanse your palate. Not advised for anything other than mixing with cola, though superior choices exist even for that purpose.

Yet, I sampled it neat for an honest evaluation, and instantly, my palate was overwhelmed by ethanol. The taste was intensely ethanol-forward; the vanilla and wood scents I perceived were completely absent. When mixed with Coca-Cola, the ethanol character vanished, transforming the spirit into a very sweet, sugary profile with faint, almost imperceptible, woody undertones. This is undeniably an economical choice, not suited for solo enjoyment unless ethanol is your preferred flavor. This is a pleasant drink for a teenager who enjoys stronger alcohol but lacks discernment in rums. As one matures, preferences change. With few exceptions, this rum ranks below basic Havana and even below basic Bacardí, yet it's priced similarly, giving me no reason to choose it. It's nice and affordable for newcomers, but if you're looking for the fundamentals of Morgan's, you won't be disappointed. My days of heavy drinking are over, and nobody enjoys heartburn.
