About this bottle
The Angeles family dedicates significant effort to creating Real Minero. Four generations of their expertise are evident in every bottle. Father Don Lorenzo and son Eduardo handle the mezcal production, while Mother Dona Florentina manages bottling and daughter Graciela oversees marketing. The family employs the ancestral method, a traditional distillation process using clay stills and bamboo tubing. Barril, a subspecies of agave from the Karwinskii family, has tall, palm-like piñas. It is recognized for its deeply earthy, herbal, and robust character.

Among the mezcals I've sampled, this was my top choice for a classic profile. It doesn't rely on elaborate presentations or labels to impress.
Not very smoky. It wasn't put through the smoking process, so it's more straightforward espadin. Not my preferred choice.
Beautiful wild, herbal notes with a balanced touch of citrus and smoke. Quite potent. 93
This was a truly excellent mezcal; in fact, I wound up having two servings.
This earthy mezcal was likely one of my top choices in Mexico City, if memory serves.
