The aromas are very mezcal-like, with smoky agave. Some sweet apple and pear notes are also present. The flavors are dominated by smoke and a sweet, tangy fruitiness. Cooked agave reappears, followed by a strong burn and a lengthy finish. It leaves a smoky, burnt aftertaste.

About this bottle
While mezcal often serves as a comparison for raicilla, this spirit offers a distinct experience. Produced in Llano Grande, Jalisco, it utilizes the Rhodacantha agave, which is roasted in an above-ground adobe oven over hot stones, positioned between a traditional mezcal pit and a tequila oven. Subsequently, the agave is hand-ground and subjected to double distillation in a wooden still constructed from Higuera Blanca wood.

Wow, it's sophisticated and possesses the typical balance of unique, smooth, smoky, and herbaceous qualities, like a beautiful flower in a bouquet!
Blue cheese on the nose. Notes of meat and leather on the palate. Highly distinctive. A quick finish.
