End of Days PORT OF ENTRY Gin *NOSE: Juniper, lemon and orange peel, vanilla sweetness from the 100% corn base spirit, hay, and light floral notes. It suggests suitability for a range of gin cocktails, from savory to citrusy to sweet. *PALATE: Thick, oily, and viscous. Features juniper, prominent lemon peel, mint, eucalyptus, vanilla or floral sweetness, and black pepper. It leans slightly modern due to significant citrus, but sufficient juniper is present for traditionalists. A pleasant lemon coating remains on the palate. VERDICT: Among the better new Gins I've encountered recently. It's a definite improvement over the 704 Gin reviewed not long ago (though costing about $8 more). It's enjoyable on its own or in various cocktails. End of Days exemplifies small, craft operation, running from a converted Quonset Hut in Wilmington, NC's Cargo District. Their quality is evident. **Notable Detail: The bottle for their Port of Entry Series is identical to the original Legent Bourbon bottle, and the Castaway Series bottle is the same used by Patrón Tequila.
