This is my first experience with Tobala mezcal. The aroma is slightly smoky but quite sharp. There's a noticeable smokiness, but it's more earthy than rubbery like Espadin. Notes of lime, grapefruit, sage, and some other bitter green herbs are also present. An astringency creates a distinctly dry finish. The heavy earthiness and mineral flavors make it complex and interesting to me.
