Nose: tropical fruit, mango and pineapple, followed by vanilla and marzipan, almonds and a hint of raisin. Palate: very light for its 40.5%, raisins, caramel, chamomile, a touch of initial bitterness. It's thin and not at all oily or dense as I would have anticipated. Finish: Short but very balanced, with raisins. What can I say? I was expecting something richer: aged grains are always, or almost always, a revelation with their smooth and sweet character. Here, at 49 years old, I anticipated much more, but due to the low proof, it's a good and very easy-to-drink product, though lacking significant personality. Rating: 4.00
