About this bottle

Montelobos Tobalá Mezcal Joven utilizes sustainably cultivated agave potatorum (Tobalá), a departure from the typical use of wild agave. These agaves were grown from seed in Puebla for up to 15 years before harvesting. They were roasted for 5-7 days in an in-ground, brick-lined earth oven. Following a ten-day fermentation, the resulting juice was twice distilled in copper stills heated by wood fire.

Jon Sampson

My palate might be affected by spicy Mexican barbecue I had earlier, but this tastes like a decent, smooth, simple Espadin with some pineapple notes. It's not bad, but not exceptional.

Chase Harvey 3.3

Smooth. Minimal burn unless allowed to linger on the tongue. Palate: Mint, vanilla, bitter dark cocoa. Nose: light green pepper.

Khloe Helm 4.0

A smooth, clean profile with subtle earthy undertones. A whisper of vanilla. Minimal heat.
