About this bottle
Mezcalero is a project focused on highlighting the craftsmanship of individual artisan distillers working in small distilleries, often in remote villages. Ansley Coale of Craft Distillers conceived the brand, which was developed by Destileria Los Danzantes and first introduced in 2009. Each release of Mezcalero is distilled and bottled in limited, one-time runs. The agaves used for distillation are at least 50% wild species, and the process occurs at small family distilleries. Number 3 was created in Santa Maria de la Pila by distiller Don Valente Angel, utilizing Espadín and Mexicana agave varieties, with a production of only 780 bottles.
