Mezcales de Leyenda emphasizes regional "terroir" in its traditional mezcals by collaborating with small family producers. Their Guerrero bottling, made from agave cupreata in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero, reflects traditional production methods. The process involves cooking the agave for three days in an oak-fired underground oven lined with lava rocks, followed by three to four days of fermentation in a wooden vat, and finally distillation in a copper still. Four thousand bottles were produced.

Nose: Pine, mild smoke, olive brine, and bell peppers. Palate: Fruity and somewhat herbal with a touch of earthiness and smoke. Finish: Lingering smoke and sweetness.
Aroma - resembles apple juice, sweet Taste - sweet, savory, agave, apple End - medium, smooth Summary - quite delicious, yet smooth and not too intense
Medium sweet agave aroma. Sweetness persists. Feels oily. Pepper, agave, citrus peel, a hint of smoke. Medium finish. High quality.
Papaya, kiwifruit, buttery agave, a subtle delicate saline quality, reduced smoke, violet, and a sweet, clean finish.
Bitter, apple aroma. Vegetal, mild sweetness, difficult to characterize on the palate.
