McConnell's Irish Whisky Sherry Cask Finish 5 Year

Appearance: Amber Hue. Legs are slow and evenly spaced. Aroma: Sweet, fruity, and floral. Hints of cinnamon and toasted oak. Sweet, light toffee notes reach the back of the nose. Candied fruits are present. Taste: Sweet and fruity. Good body; a medium finish. Oak is noticeable at the end, with dryness on the back of the tongue. It's a bit young and potent, similar to rum. Spicy. Aroma with Water: Vanilla and honey emerge when water is added. Pear from a can or jar also appears. The oak influence lessens. Taste with Water: With added water, the alcohol flavor becomes more apparent; the burn diminishes. A subtle fruitiness and vanilla are present. Not as impressive as I initially believed; however, for an immature spirit, it shows considerable resilience!

Tasted blind as part of a whiskey night. I couldn't identify it as Irish whiskey; I would have guessed it was Canadian. Maple syrup and dark chocolate are present in the finish.

This has a more profound flavor profile compared to their other products. It remains approachable and mellow, yet possesses a slightly heightened spicy sensation on the palate.

The Sherry imparts a clear fruit character. It's vibrant and carries a sweetness. Reminds me of blueberry pancakes with a hint of maple.

Superior to the standard green label McConnell's.
