This Maison Selby cucumber gin from Dillon's Distillery was something I was eager to try as soon as I saw it. I enjoy cucumbers and gin, so I had high hopes this would be an easy impulse purchase. The aroma of cucumber and floral notes quenches your thirst before you even take a sip. Drinking this gin neat might cause a dominant ethanol burn that could make your hair stand on end. However, this gin truly shines in a simple cocktail (ice, soda, lime)! It's a dry gin (unlike some other botanical-forward gins you might be accustomed to), which allows the cucumber flavor to come through. I'm impressed by how elegantly it transforms into a crisp, refreshing drink for a summer evening. 7.75/10
