I’ve never encountered a gin quite like this one. It’s an immediate rush of mandarin taste that softens beautifully. The juniper and botanical elements are less pronounced. This would be a great gin for people who usually drink vodka.

About this bottle
Komasa Gin's distillery in Kagoshima, Japan, is the origin of Sakurajima komikan, a diminutive local mandarin orange. This fruit, cultivated in nutrient-rich soil near an active volcano, is renowned for its aromatic sweetness and lends its name to the gin. The komikan is the primary component, complemented by botanicals such as juniper and coriander, enhancing its vibrant citrus character.

The smell of tangerine and orange filled my nose. It tasted wonderful. Slightly sweet but balanced by juniper and spice. I only had a small sample, but I'd buy a bottle.
Mild and pleasant citrus notes. It is not at all too strong. It complements cranberry juice well, and I will absolutely purchase it again!
Smooth. Fruity. Makes an excellent martini.
