Harold Kurtz 3.0

Nose - Faint notes of toasted agave, peppercorn, eucalyptus, orange peel, brine, floral undertones, and moderate ethanol. Palate - Vegetal character, subtle citrus oil, grapefruit, white pepper, green apple, and a hint of smoke. The finish is medium in length, featuring drier smoked agave, a blend of herbs and peppercorn, orange bitters, vanilla bean, and moderate ethanol. I sampled this small 50 mL bottle. The packaging is impressive for its size, possibly contributing to the higher cost. I'm not a huge fan of standard espadin mezcal. This one is adequate; neither exceptionally good nor bad. It's less smoky than other espadins I've encountered, which I consider a positive. I likely wouldn't purchase a full bottle, as superior options exist.

Alonso Pino 3.5

Excellent in a freshly made margarita; acceptable for sipping on its own; medium smoke; has a slight bite.
