Lo-Fi Aperitifs results from a partnership between Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery and Steven Grasse of Quaker City Mercantile, who brought together their backgrounds in wine, spirits, and brand development. They consulted with bartenders, including brand ambassador Claire Sprouse, for product creation. Their Gentian Amaro is produced using a white wine base that is fortified with grape spirits. It features botanicals such as anise, cinchona bark, orange oil bitters, hibiscus, grapefruit, ginger, bois de rose, and gentian root.

Starts out sweet, tasting mostly of hibiscus and grapefruit. Hints of anise and bitters lead to a typical Amaro conclusion. Great in a spritzer or mixed into a gin and tonic.
Strong flavor of tart fruit and underlying sweet notes. Long finish, excellent on its own, chilled, mixed, or in a spritzer. This amaro is incredibly versatile!
I enjoyed this previously, but lately it seems uninspired and without unique qualities.
