St. George Raspberry Brandy

This is quite impactful, for better or worse. The aroma delivers a powerful burst of raspberry followed immediately by a strong grassy scent, as if a raspberry was crushed against your nose and then you were pushed face-first into freshly cut grass. The grassy element is prominent in the taste as well. The raspberry aspect of the smell and taste is wonderful, but the grassy component is a bit too dominant for my liking. I can drink a small amount neat, but just as I begin to enjoy the raspberry, the grass intrudes and overshadows it. However, I've discovered it works wonders when creating simple two-ingredient drinks. I've mixed it with whiskey, rum, liqueurs, etc. In these combinations, the raspberry aroma persists while the grassy character is more subdued (which suits me fine), and the resulting drink often offers a new perspective on the flavor of the base spirit, modifying it without overpowering it. Overall, it's worth trying.

It begins with an aromatic profile featuring notes of berries, hints of stone fruit, and spring leaves; its fruity character develops notes of raspberry and cherry; culminating in a long and rich finish with an earthy undertone. The aroma is reminiscent of raspberry seeds and seaweed. The taste is like a mouthful of raspberry lavender soap. It goes down very smoothly, so that's a positive. I can't get past its intense vegetal character. I wish they had used a lighter maceration so that the raspberry fruit was more present than the seed.

It's a clear liquid, but you might as well have a heaping glass of raspberries in your cup. The aroma, taste, and finish are all raspberry explosions. Fun and different. It's one-dimensional, but they tell you what to expect in the name. A big fan. I could drink a lot of this.

My initial experience with brandy. It had a sharpness and a lingering bite that I didn't care for. This probably indicates that brandy isn't my preference.

While I appreciate their pear brandy, I disliked this; it has a very earthy flavor. Fortunately, I purchased it at half price during a clearance sale.
