Thaddeus Pope 4.0

The nose is sweet, grassy, and faintly tart and fruity. On the palate, there's more sugar and tartness, alongside an almost chemical flavor. The finish is long and quite sharp, with the chemical and tart notes persisting for a considerable time. The expert review makes it sound like this is some super freaky weird thing, but I found it pretty much in line with other agricole spirits I've tried (which admittedly is only a few). The expert review also makes it sound like it's loaded with "industrial" flavors, which I don't find to be the case at all. It's a pleasant, cane-forward agricole that's great by itself or in a ti punch. It cost $37, but the bottle is a liter rather than 750ml, so it's a good value. I may return to this, but will be trying other agricoles first.

I acquired this and Rhum JM 50% to begin exploring agricole. I'm still new to this, but I found La Favorite's smell (and throat sensation) to be reminiscent of nail polish remover. It has a very grassy flavor, which can add an interesting twist to mixed drinks, but it's difficult to enjoy straight. I currently have a strong preference for JM.

I'll be consuming more of this due to its upfront intensity, which is matched by a pleasant warmth and sweetness. A very interesting contrast for a rum.

This was a pleasure. It's certainly unique, exhibiting some industrial notes on the aroma and taste, yet it works well with the sugar and vibrant tastes.

Kaleb Ohara 4.3

Smooth, with a touch of vegetal notes and fruit. Enjoyable neat.

Layla Tellez 4.0

Earthy and botanical notes.
