Knob Creek 21 Year Bourbon

Nose: Evokes a dark, opulent smoking lounge with wooden panels, hints of deep fruit, nuts, and oak. As it rests, graham cracker, vanilla, and tobacco emerge. Palate: Oak is very prominent but not overwhelming, with a nutty caramel undertone; quite complex. Flavors of tobacco, dark chocolate, and sweet richness are present. Finish: While not the absolute longest, I'd consider it a lengthy finish with a very pleasant warming sensation. Overall, a well-crafted bourbon. I wouldn't describe it as excessively oaky. 9.5/10

Aroma: Oak, tobacco, and vanilla detected. Taste: Leather, oak, chocolate, baking spices, and cherry present. Finish: The palate flavors carry through from start to finish. This is an outstanding whiskey. Definitely recommend if you can find it. While I don't have a direct comparison, it is considerably more balanced and less aggressively oaky/bitter than the 18.

This is delightful and possesses arguably one of the finest aromas I've ever encountered! Nose: Pronounced charred oak; vanilla pound cake, dark fruits like plums and blackberries. Palate: Rich oak, caramel, dark fruits, and honey. Finish: A long, warm finish with lingering oak sweetness.

Nose: Pretzel, mint, raisin, caramel. Palate: Sweet corn, marshmallow, prune. It reminds me of those colorful, chalky candies. Tannins are present in the long finish, along with more fruit.

Oak with a sweet, nutty character. Sweetened grains, fruit leather, and oak notes. A substantial vanilla and nougat finish. An easy-drinking spirit. I still favor lower age statements at higher proofs.

Aroma of charred oak and vanilla. The palate is dominated by heavily aged oak and caramel, with baking spices. The finish is medium in length.
