Little Book The Infinite: Edition 2

I must admit, I didn't intend to write a review for this as it was just opened and I prefer to let my whiskeys aerate for several weeks to see how they develop, but here we are. My initial impression has compelled me to review this immediately. Nose: A dark, rich, powerful aroma in the best possible way! Dark, rich cherries (and possibly other stone fruits, but everything I'm sensing strongly suggests "red"). It's almost syrupy. It's aged, rich, and 105 proof. The kind of aroma you want to immerse yourself in. Palate: Cherries! Just as expected from the aroma, but not typical for the brand. I'm a big Jim Beam enthusiast, but this seems off-profile. I don't detect any nuttiness. It enters your mouth smoothly and then lingers. The cherries are the dominant note, but then it presents other flavors before concluding each statement with cherry. Take a sip and allow this Bourbon to tell its story. I might be detecting hints of everything that went into its creation, but it feels like it unfolds in reverse chronological order, starting with the 22 year old and progressing toward the 7 year old. It's incredibly well-crafted! If it improves further, maybe it's a 5.25? I'll need to try it again. There's absolutely no bitterness, yet it drinks as if it's much older! I'd say it presents the 20+ year old Bourbons prominently and then softens the edges, leaving you to savor the richness for an extended duration. Excellent work! The Noe family is clearly showing off at this point. You know, flawlessly blending whiskey is actually quite challenging for many people...This is a top favorite of all time! It has surpassed my expectations, which is a very rare occurrence.

Little Book The Infinite II This "Infinity-Style" Beam endeavor by Freddie Noe is fantastic. The initial release is among my all-time favorites. This version rivals it! 120.4 Proof (unofficial age of 7-10 years) Nose: Toasted wood, nectar, a hint of rye pepper and caramelized sweetness Palate: Incredibly intricate! Aged wood, toffee, custard, cured hide/leaf and a whisper of spearmint/botanical Finish: Lingering and warm!
