The aroma is rich with oak and peppery notes mingled with the sweetness of vanilla and butterscotch. The palate is sweeter and loses much of the oakiness. Vanilla, honey, fig, and apricot saturate the roof of the mouth and coat the tongue. Disappointingly, the finish is rather brief with nothing truly lingering to encourage another sip. If you prefer your whiskey experience to be short and sweet, then this is the bottle for you, but if you desire a complex and enduring finish, then look elsewhere. Beautiful bottle. Smells pleasant. Nothing extraordinary on the aroma, sweet baking spice with an almost sweet BBQ sauce note. Mild oak. Flavors of faint apple taffy, nice vanilla, caramel baked monkey bread in the middle with some pleasant warmth, some citrus also present. It seems to become sweeter with the warmth before the dry oak concludes it. Ends sweet and dry. Well balanced, well worth the cost. This is definitely what you imagine when discussing a classic bourbon.

Nose: Intense peach and apple with prominent vanilla. Faint notes of spice and dark caramel. A whisper of citrus after tasting. Taste: Strong oak hits first, yielding to sweet vanilla and a very spicy cinnamon finish. Fruity notes emerge in the middle. Adding water diminishes the fruit and emphasizes the sweeter vanilla and caramel. Decent on its own, but it would certainly seem well-suited for cocktails.

A delicate, elevated, refined nose with a mild presence of wood and even less char. It's very subtle and inviting. The taste mirrors the nose's subtlety. The mouthfeel is reserved, acknowledging the rye slightly, but overall, it's a very balanced straight bourbon. The finish is a pleasant, even fade, concluding with a hint of dark pie crust.

A rich nose with smoky, caramel, vanilla, and oak notes, reminiscent of barbeque pork or honey-glazed ham. It has a robust, sweet body with vanilla and oak, plus a pleasant spice that isn't overpowering. Hints of caramel and honey ham appear, followed by a smooth, quickly fading sweet oak finish. Sampled neat in a tulip glass.

Following an initial intense wave of heavily charred oak, it shifts to a sweet brown sugar with a touch of spice and even a hint of dark fruit. It has an amazing sweet and moderately long finish. It is very satisfying for the price.
